ITINERARY SUMMARY


At times permits may not be available to see the gorillas in Uganda. In this case the gorilla viewing will take place just over the Uganda / Rwanda border. Our staff has been to Rwanda and all have enjoyed it and will be happy to discuss it with you.



Day 1 On arrival at Entebbe Airport you will be met and transferred to Lake Victoria Hotel for overnight. If time permits visit Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Reserve.Mountain Gorilla Tour 5 days
Day 2 Full day drive (or up-grade to private charter flight) to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Parc National de Volcans in Rwanda for overnight at lodge. Those flying will have time for an afternoon forest walk. Chimpanzee Trekking and Gorilla Safari
Day 3 Gorilla trekking in the beautiful forests of Bwindi or the Virungas.
Day 4 Option of a second trek with pre-purchased permit, or a guided forest walk. Overnight at the lodge.Primate Safari, Great Apes Uganda-Rwanda Safari 8 days.
Day 5 Drive to Lake Mburo for overnight at a tented camp – game viewing and walking in the National Park. Mountain Rwenzori Climbing 10 days.
Day 6 Return to Entebbe, curio shopping en route. Transfer to the Airport for your departure flight. If you have not yet visited Ngamba Island on day one you may like to spend a night on the Island. Best of Uganda Gorilla Safari 8 days

Safaris operate once or twice a month from January to March and then from June to December. April and May can be very wet but private departures are possible.

Private departures from US$ 1420 per person (based on four travellers)

Gorilla permits are an additional US$360 to US$375 per person per trek and this must be paid in advance.

Uganda is a beautiful country – the scenery is captivating, the vegetation prolific and along the way it is fun to see the villages, people and incredible birds HOWEVER most of the roads in Uganda are in a very poor state and travel can be slow and at times uncomfortable. In Uganda the temperatures are fairly much the same year round. Daily minimums are around 15C (65 F) and maximums are around 27 C (80 F)
